Strings attached

Line up:

Goska Isphording - harpsichord

Chad Langford and Luc Houtkamp - laptops and live electronics

Strings Attached is a new innovative contempoary programme for the unusual combination of harpsichord and two computers & live electronics.

Several reknown and upcoming composers  with very different backgrounds and ages have been commisioned to write pieces for this combination. The pieces will emphasize the interaction between the musicians and their instruments, and elaborate on the wide possibilities of live processing and the intermingling of electronic and acoustic sounds.

Wouter Snoei (NL)

Jorrit Tamminga (NL)

Roderik de Man (NL)

Ángel Faraldo (Sp)

Seth Ayyaz (UK)

Karlheinz Essl (DE)

And of course the two composers of POW Ensemble:

Chad Langford

Luc Houtkamp

Striings Attached is set up like a chamber music ensemble, with a slightly amplified harpsichord and two computers sounding via two small speakers - thus, the music  is heard from each individual musician and not through a PA.

It is a low-volume project with a clear and intimate sound in which the individul voices are clearly recognizable and the interaction between the instruments is optimal.
